On Wednesday, 4 June, the European Commission and the European Central Bank are due to publish their Convergence Reports on Bulgaria, BGNES reported.
This is a key step towards Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone.
The reports assess Bulgaria's performance against the key Maastricht criteria for joining the eurozone, with the latest data showing that Bulgaria has already met the criterion on price stability.
Following the publication of the reports, which are expected to be positive, assessment procedures will be carried out by the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) and reviewed by the Eurogroup.
By going through this process, Bulgaria will take the final step towards introducing the euro as the 21st member of the eurozone. | BGNES
