On September 4, European Council President António Costa will visit Bulgaria for a meeting with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov
On September 4, European Council President António Costa will visit Bulgaria, where he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. The visit is part of a broader tour during which Costa will meet the leaders of all EU member states.
The tour, known as the “Tour des Capitales”, is designed to allow the European Council President to gather insights from heads of state and government on the current situation in the EU and to prepare the ground for upcoming European Council meetings and international summits.
“Over the next three weeks, I will be traveling across Europe, meeting EU leaders in their capitals. These conversations will help shape our common agenda for the months ahead. As President of the European Council, it is my duty to listen and understand the priorities of all leaders—especially in these uncertain times. My role is to build consensus. With every visit, I will work to reinforce our cooperation, because in today’s unpredictable world, our unity is our greatest strength,” Costa said.
President Costa will visit most EU countries between September 1 and 19. The first meeting of the tour took place on August 27 in Brussels with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever.
On September 4, Costa will visit Romania for a meeting with President Nicușor Dan, followed by the visit to Bulgaria for discussions with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. | BGNES
