EC President Ursula von der Leyen has arrived in Bulgaria, BGNES reports.

Her plane landed at Plovdiv Airport, and she traveled by helicopter to Sopot, where she will visit the largest state-owned military enterprise in the country, Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi EAD.

During her visit to the factory, von der Leyen will tour the production facilities and the new sites where Rheinmetall will build, after which she will meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

The two will discuss issues related to European security and defense. A short briefing for the media is scheduled to follow. I BGNES
