The student protest "See you on Vidovdan" is scheduled for today at 6 p.m. on Slavija Square in Belgrade, Danas reported. According to the protest program, at 7:11 p.m., a 16-minute silence will be held for the 16 victims of the collapsed canopy of the Novi Sad train station, followed at 7:27 p.m. by the national anthem, the first block of student speeches, the presentation of the Red Peony, two more blocks of student speeches, and at 9 p.m., the deadline for fulfilling the demands set by the Serbian government.
The students are asking the government to send a reasoned proposal to the President of Serbia by 9:00 PM to dissolve the Serbian Parliament in order to call early parliamentary elections, as well as to suspend the gathering in Pioneer Park and Nikola Pašić Square until then.
The end of the student program is scheduled for 9:20 PM. The students noted that if anyone feels unwell, they should contact the nearest security guard or first aid station. In the event of tear gas being used, they should prepare a cloth soaked in a solution of water and bicarbonate of soda. Every incident should be recorded with a mobile phone and self-control should be maintained. The students also announced where the first aid stations will be located.
In a post on Instagram, the students stated that they had received information from verified sources that certain flyers, which are not the official flyers of the students in the blockade, would be distributed before and during the meeting. They added that the only flyers they will distribute contain information about the mailing list, through which they will have more direct contact with citizens, inform them of all future actions, the organization of the elections and the like. | BGNES
