Betis beat Fiorentina after extra time to set Europa Conference League final against Chelsea

This will be the first European final in the Spanish club's history.

Betis will be joining Chelsea in the Conference League final. The Spanish team eliminated Fiorentina after a 1:2 loss in the second leg in Florence and a 2:2 draw after extra time to qualify for the first European final in the club's history.

The Andalusians had won the first leg 2:1 at home and started the second leg on Italian soil in style. Manchester United loanee Antony opened the scoring after exactly half an hour with a superb free kick past another former Red Devils player - David de Gea. By the end of the half, however, the hosts, who were chasing a third consecutive final in the competition (both lost to West Ham and Olympiacos respectively), had made a complete turnaround after Robin Gosens' two precise headers.

After the break, no new goals were scored and so it came to extra time, where Betis managed to score through the reserve Abde Ezzalzouli in the 97th minute. Fiorentina failed to react until the end and so the Spaniards will play in the dispute for the trophy.

There, on May 28 in the Polish city of Wroclaw, they will face the favorite from day one, Chelsea. Londoners routinely cruised past Swedish Djurgårdens after 1:0 with a goal by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the 38th minute and eliminated the opponent with an aggregate score of 5:1. Enzo Maresca's team is also chasing history in the final with Betis - if they win the trophy, the Blues will become the first English team to have triumphed in every European tournament. | BGNES
