On Friday morning, the Fenerbahçe management announced that Jose Mourinho is no longer the coach of the representative team. The paths of the two sides diverged after the Special One failed to stop the dominance of Galatasaray in Turkey, and in the meantime, for two consecutive seasons, he did not qualify his graduates for the main phase of the Champions League.
Last year, the Portuguese even announced at a press conference that "Fenerbahçe was not going to win the Champions League anyway".
"The technical director of our professional football first team, Jose Mourinho, who was fulfilling his duties from the 2024-2025 season, has parted ways with us. We thank him for his efforts for our team until today and wish him success in his future career," Fenerbahçe wrote on Friday.
The 62-year-old specialist has led the Turks in 62 matches. He achieved 37 wins, 14 draws and 11 losses. His team was most recently eliminated by Benfica in the play-offs to enter the main phase of the Champions League. |BGNES
