The fourth stage of this year's 108th edition of the prestigious Giro d'Italia will forever remain in history. For the first time three cyclists from the Netherlands occupied the top 3 in the final standings.

Casper van Uden won his maiden Grand Tour win. He triumphed in the 189-kilometer section between Alberobello and Lecce. He left his compatriots Olav Kooij and Maikel Zijlaard on the podium. For the 34th time, a Dutchman has won a stage of the Giro.

The leader in the general classification, Mads Pedersen, remained fourth today. The Dane continues in pink, ahead of the 2023 winner Primož Roglic and Mathias Vacek.

Tomorrow, the Giro d'Italia will continue with a 151-kilometer stage from Ceglie Messapica to Matera. | BGNES
