Spain reaches final after goal spectacle against France

Spain will face Portugal in the final of the tournament, while France will play Germany for third place.

In a real football thriller, Spain defeated France 5-4 in the Nations League semi-final and secured a place in the final against Portugal. The match offered nine goals, numerous twists and individual flashes of brilliance from both sides.

In the 22nd minute, the Spaniards took the lead through Nico Williams, who scored after an assist from Mikel Oyarzabal. Just three minutes later, Oyarzabal again provided the decisive pass, this time to Mikel Merino, who doubled the lead. France responded with several dangerous attacks and a disallowed goal by Dean Housen for offside at the end of the first half.

The second half started even more dynamically. In the 51st minute, Lamine Yamal was fouled in the penalty area and converted the penalty himself to make it 3-0 for La Roja. Almost immediately afterwards, Williams scored his second goal after a pass from Pedri to make it 4-0.

France managed to pull one back through Kylian Mbappé, who converted a penalty in the 59th minute. But in the 67th minute, after a wonderful pass from Pedro Porro, Yamal added a second goal to his tally – 5-1.

Despite the Spaniards' solid lead, Les Bleus did not give up. Ryan Cherki scored a beautiful goal from distance in the 79th minute, and five minutes later, an own goal by Danny Vivian made it 5-3. The final drama came in added time when Sherki assisted Randall Kolo Muani, who scored with a powerful header to make it 5-4.
