Temperatures remain high across mainland Greece

A very high fire risk has been declared in some areas.

Temperatures are expected to remain high in mainland Greece today, reaching 38°C in some areas.

A slight drop in temperatures is expected in the north of the country, where there is also a chance of local showers, especially in mountainous areas, according to Kathimerini.

In Macedonia, Thrace, the Ionian Islands, the eastern Aegean islands, the Dodecanese, and southern Crete, temperatures will range between 34 and 36°C. In other island areas, they will be slightly lower, between 31 and 33°C.

Northern winds are expected, reaching force 6 in places in the eastern part of the country and in the Aegean Sea.

According to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, a very high fire risk (category 4) has been declared for the following areas: Attica, Euboea, Corinth, Argolis, Lesbos, and Chios. | BGNES
