Alien: Earth Makes a Triumphant Premiere at San Diego Comic-Con

The FX project is the brainchild of Noah Hawley (“Fargo”), who told 6,500 enthusiastic viewers: “This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done.”

The long-awaited sci-fi series Alien: Earth made its world premiere at the California Comic-Con festival, where thousands of fans watched the pilot episode of the new television addition to the iconic series.

The FX project is the brainchild of Noah Hawley (“Fargo”), who told 6,500 enthusiastic viewers: “This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done.”

The series, which is produced by Ridley Scott, takes place several years before the events of the original 1979 Alien. It is expected to premiere on streaming platforms in August.

Among the cast on stage were Sidney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Babu Sisei and Samuel Blenkin, who discussed their participation in the Alien universe. Chandler plays Wendy, a “hybrid” of human consciousness and synthetic body.

“It was like a dream come true. I still can’t believe I’m a part of this,” she said.
Hawley stressed that his approach is emotional, not mechanical – his goal is not to replicate, but to recreate the feeling that the original evoked. | BGNES
