Kevin Spacey to receive charity award in Cannes

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Better World Fund told AFP that the actor, who was acquitted last year of nine counts of sexual assault in the UK, will be honored "for decades of artistic brilliance" at a charity gala in the French Riviera resort.

A New York court dismissed a $40 million civil lawsuit for sexual assault against the star of "The Usual Suspects" in 2022.

In May last year, a British television documentary, Spacey Unmasked, featured new allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior.

In it, 10 men who are not connected to the case against Spacey in the British court accused him of misconduct toward them.

However, the 65-year-old actor, whose illustrious career was ruined by earlier allegations, denied any wrongdoing.
