Heavy metal icons Metallica have revealed details of a massive stadium tour that will take them across the UK and Europe in the summer of 2026.
The tour is part of their M72 World Tour and supports their latest album, 72 Seasons, released in 2023.
Following their first European tour in 2023, including two headlining appearances at the Download Festival in the UK, Metallica will return to the continent for 16 dates in the summer of 2026, FarOut magazine reports.
The tour kicks off on May 9 in Athens at the Olympic Stadium, followed by stops in Bucharest on May 13 and Chorzów, Poland, on May 19.
One of the highlights will be the double concert in Frankfurt, part of the “No Repeat Weekends” series, during which the band performs two completely different setlists. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for both nights.
Other destinations include Budapest, Dublin, and London, where two concerts will also be held. The UK tour also includes performances at Hampden Park in Glasgow and Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Gojira and Knocked Loose will be special guests on some of the dates, while Pantera and Avatar will open the remaining concerts.
A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the band's foundation, All In My Hands, which has raised millions of dollars for important causes since its inception in 2017.
During a recent performance at Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech University (USA), the performance of “Enter Sandman” even caused a minor earthquake, according to US media reports.
