A national meeting of GERB is being held in Plovdiv, attended by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, party leader Boyko Borisov, and cabinet ministers.
Georgiev announced that Bulgarians from Iran have also expressed a desire to leave the Islamic Republic. At this point, the exact number is unclear.

A Coordination Center has been set up at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, on the orders of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Zhelyazkov, and under the personal leadership of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev.
The center aims to monitor developments in real time, maintain constant contact with the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Bulgaria in the region, and coordinate actions with other competent institutions in order to ensure the safety of Bulgarian citizens.
