Last night, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) tried to detain Dodik, but were prevented by members of the Republika Srpska (RS) Ministry of Interior.

RS President Milorad Dodik left the building of the Administrative Centre of the Government of Republika Srpska (RS, the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Earlier, traffic on the street from which Dodik was to pass was closed, the Sarajevo Times reported.

Last night, members of Bosnia and Herzegovina's State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) tried to detain Dodik, but were prevented by members of the RS Ministry of Interior.

SIPA reported that they were threatened with the use of force during this raid.

They stated that this action by the RS MoI should be documented as a criminal offence of "armed rebellion".

Dodik will attend the inauguration of the building of the Rectorate of the University of East Sarajevo and the Academy of Music.

RS Ministry of Interior employees are still standing this morning in front of the RS Government Administrative Centre in East Sarajevo with weapons.

Police forces are guarding the area following last night's drama in which SIPA members attempted to arrest Dodik.

His arrest was prevented by police officers from the RS Interior Ministry.

Just like last night and this morning, RS Ministry of Interior officers are preventing the media from approaching this building.

BGNES recalls that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) issued a central arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, as well as RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković and the Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić.

Dodik arrived earlier today at the Administrative Centre of the RS Government in East Sarajevo, where he was scheduled to meet with the mayor and the heads of the municipalities comprising the city of East Sarajevo. | BGNES
