Kosovo's acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that normalizing relations with Serbia is possible, but to make it happen, serious pressure needs to be put on Belgrade to follow through on the 2023 Agreement on the Path to Normalization.
A day earlier, US President Donald Trump commented on relations between Pristina and Belgrade.
Kurti reiterated his position that Kosovo and Serbia have already reached a normalization agreement, which Belgrade is violating.
"In order for relations between our two countries to be normalized, Serbia must first hand over to our authorities Milan Radojic, the criminal responsible for the murder of our police sergeant and hero of Kosovo, Afrim Bujaku (referring to the Serbian terrorist attack in Banska in 2023). Then they must agree to sign the Basic Agreement and the annex for its implementation. They must also withdraw the letter of December 2023 in which Ana Brnabic stated that she does not recognize the territorial integrity of Kosovo," Kurti emphasized.
On June 15, Donald Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that during his first presidential term, Kosovo and Serbia were “on the brink of a serious conflict” and that war was prevented thanks to him. He accused his successor Joe Biden of damaging long-term prospects with “meaningless decisions” and added: “I will fix this.” | BGNES
