North Macedonia's PM admitted to actively interfering in the text of Thomas Waitz’s European Parliament report and lobbying politicians in Brussels, BGNES reported.
"We are carrying out organized activity, and I have spoken to everyone in Brussels. I managed to cushion the blow that someone tried to inflict on Macedonian identity and language by labeling them as 'modern' or 'current' (in the report on North Macedonia).", Mickoski stated.
"There will be no more humiliations, no more accepting everything served to us at the table. No more acceptance of bilateral agreements and treaties that, without exception, are detrimental to Macedonian identity. We are fighting to tell the real truth about Macedonia — in Berlin, Brussels, London, Washington. Everywhere, we are trying to convey what the citizens feel and to fight for Macedonia," he added.
"A meeting will be held on Tuesday (June 24) in the European Parliament, in the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET). I expect a strong message from the EP regarding Macedonian identity and the Macedonian language. To be honest, in recent days I received very troubling information about intense efforts by certain politicians in Brussels. Over the past few days, we have been engaged in organized activity together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Timcho Mucunski), and I managed to contact literally everyone in Brussels. I believe we succeeded in cushioning the blow that someone tried to deliver to Macedonian identity and language by defining them as 'modern,' 'current,' or whatever else they might come up with — all in an attempt to create some new nation and thereby damage trust in the European Union itself. Unfortunately, there are such members of the European Parliament, but the vast majority stand behind our arguments. We will fight against those who robbed and humiliated Macedonia over the past seven years. They have developed a strong case of Stockholm syndrome," Mickoski also stated. | BGNES
