Vucic: I'm going to Moscow on May 9, Russian FSB dismissed the March 15 sound cannon lie

"I am ready for the whole sky to fall on my head", the Serbian president said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had proved that “no sound cannon was used against the thousands of protesting citizens” during the March 15 protests, reports BGNES.

Vucic read out a report by the FSB, which had conducted an “investigation” to come to a firm conclusion against the “lie.” In another address to the nation, he congratulated Juro Matsut on his new post as Serbia's prime minister.

"The official report of the FSB arrived yesterday and was published on the website of the Serbian Security and Information Service (BIA) immediately before this address, Vucic said, adding that the FSB is one of the most powerful and well-known services, along with the US FBI.

The Serbian president said he was under great pressure over his decision to attend the May 9 Victory Parade in Moscow and stressed that he had not changed his mind. Days ago, he was warned that such a step would mean blocking Serbia's path to European Union membership.

"We are entering a period of enormous diplomatic activity, as well as a lot of pressure regarding the Victory Parade on 9 May in Moscow, the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, in which part of the Serbian army will participate. I do not know what others will decide, whether the army will stand up to the pressure, but I have not changed my mind so far. I am ready for the whole sky to fall on my head," Vucic was quoted as saying by the Serbian official Politika.

Vucic clarified today that Serbia will continue to discuss the gas agreement with the Russians, as well as what will happen in the case of US sanctions against Serbia's Oil Industry - NIS.

The Serbian head of state also announced that he will travel to Ohio, where a celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement, which ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, is being organised.

"All the Dayton signatories will be there, so the next two months will be interesting," Vucic said.

The president said that “on the evening of 15 March, an attempt was made to finally carry out a colour revolution” and that “everything was prepared for a violent seizure of power, as well as spreading the lie about the use of a sonic cannon.”

"No matter how much I tried to tell you that it was a lie, a brutal lie, I know that many people believed that something like that happened because it suited them. In the end, there was such a criminalization and dehumanization of me and the people I work and collaborate with that many would believe it happened. This was a deliberate, pre-organised and targeted attack on the state with the aim of provoking absolute instability and violent overthrow of the constitutional order," Vucic said, continuing:

"I will not rest as long as I live, and I have another year and a half as president. I will seek and insist on all accountability, at least political accountability, above all criminal and legal accountability of those who deceived the public and lied to the people that there was a sonic weapon, whatever a sonic weapon means, that was used at the rally they organised."

Vučić claimed that "everything was calculated and prepared against Serbia", pointing out that when a colour revolution is made, "political, economic, informational and psychological war is waged".

He strongly condemned the RTS student blockades, saying they were “unconstitutional and illegal”. The Serbian president expects “the competent state authorities to react according to their powers and to ensure the normal work of RTS employees”.

"As the President of the Republic, I have a very negative attitude towards the RTS news feed, but I strongly condemn the blockades of RTS, which are unconstitutional and illegal, and I expect the competent state bodies to react according to their powers and ensure normal work of these people. Then we are left to fight them by legal and legitimate means, not by starvation, torture and physical torture," Vucic added. | BGNES
