The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has repealed several laws adopted by the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska entity.

The Law on the Special Register and Publicity of the Work of Non-Profit Organizations (the so-called “Foreign Agents” Law), The Law on the Non-Application of Laws and Prohibition of Activities of Unconstitutional Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Law on the Establishment of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of the RS have been repealed, the Sarajevo Times reported.

These are laws adopted by the RS after the first instance verdict against RS President Milorad Dodik for failure to comply with the decisions of the High Representative (Christian Schmidt). Through these laws, Bosnian Serb leaders attempted to strip the judicial and police authorities in the RS of their jurisdiction.

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ruled that these laws were not in line with the Constitution, that the National Assembly had acted outside its powers, and that entities could not assume the competences of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. | BGNES
