Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and just five minutes later Luis Diaz scored for the first time with the Bayern team in the Bundesliga. Olise scored again in the 42nd minute to make it a classic 3-0 by the break. Serge Gnabry had two key assists, contributing to the Bavarians' dominance.
