Pep Guardiola has commented on Crystal Palace's time-wasting in the FA Cup final. His Manchester City lost 0:1 at Wembley, and the Eagles are now celebrating their first trophy in the club's history.
The Spanish coach was not happy with the actions of Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who time-wasted the restart of play several times, buying time for his team. Henderson, who could have been sent off for a handball outside the penalty area, saved a penalty from Omar Marmoush and after the final whistle offered a hand to Guardiola, who, however, did not accept it.
"It's time-wasting. I understand it in the last minutes, but from the start? He's British, in English football, you have to play. My team never wastes time because they play the way people deserve to watch", commented Pep, who refused to comment on Henderson's handball outside the penalty area: "Ask the referees".
Henderson himself said after the match: "I went to shake his hand, but I think he was disappointed with the time-wasting. I said to him, 'You got the 10 minutes of extra time you wanted.' There's no hard feelings between us". | BGNES
