Bryan Mbeumo officially signs with Manchester United

He joins Matheus Cunha as the Red Devils' second summer signing.

Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo has signed for Manchester United for £71m.

After weeks of protracted talks and rejected offers, United and Brentford agreed a fee of £65m plus £6m in add-ons last Friday. The £65m will be paid in four instalments.

Mbeumo, 25, has signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils with the option of a further season. He joins in time to be part of Ruben Amorim's squad, which travel to the United States on Tuesday for their pre-season tour.

"As soon as I found out there was an opportunity to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams - the team whose shirt I wore as a child. My mindset is to always be better than yesterday. I know I have the spirit and character to raise my level here, to learn from Ruben Amorim and to play alongside top-class players. Everyone has told me about the environment that has been created here and how exciting the plans for the future are. This is a huge club, with an incredible stadium and fans, we are determined to fight for the biggest trophies", said Mbeumo. | BGNES
