Naomi Osaka's long wait for a Grand Slam semifinal is over. In this year's US Open, the former No. 1 among women in the world defeated Karolina Muchova 6-4, 7-6(3).

For the two-time champion in New York, this is the third semifinal in her career in the tournament and the first since returning to the Tour. She was absent after becoming a mother.

The Japanese will continue the tournament with a duel against 24-year-old American Amanda Anisimova. The lady surprisingly dealt with the Pole Iga Swiontek 6-4, 6-3 in the previous phase. |BGNES
