US President Donald Trump said that the country will provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems to help it defend itself from Russian aggression. The statement comes against the backdrop of a visibly cooled relationship between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need," Trump said, without specifying the number of systems. This statement comes just two weeks after Washington announced a temporary suspension of some military supplies to Kiev.
At the same press conference, Trump also commented on the war in the Gaza Strip, saying that talks on the subject are continuing and expressing hope for progress next week, although ceasefire talks in Doha are currently at a standstill.
