Bulgarian President Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The conversation focused on bilateral relations between Turkey and Bulgaria, as well as regional and global issues, according to the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate.

Noting that relations between Turkey and Bulgaria have deepened with important steps taken in all areas, Erdogan drew attention to ongoing efforts to expand cooperation in the defense industry and energy sectors.

Noting the ongoing efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, Erdogan stressed that he respects Bulgaria's delicate policy on this issue and that Turkey is making efforts to bring the two sides together in Istanbul to establish peace in the region.
