Special forces of the Chinese and Serbian armies will hold joint training under the name "Peacekeeper 2025" in Hebei Province, in northern China, in the second half of July.

This was stated by Colonel Jiang Bin, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, at a press conference, the Chinese Ministry reported.

"This will be the first joint training of the Chinese and Serbian armies. It will contribute to strengthening the combat capabilities of the participants and deepening cooperation between the two armies," he said.

In 2020, Serbia purchased six new CH-92A unmanned aerial vehicles from China.

Two years later, it also purchased the FK-3 anti-aircraft missile system.

Serbia is a militarily neutral country, but is a member of the Partnership for Peace program, which is a bilateral cooperation between NATO and individual non-member countries.

Official Belgrade maintains good relations with China, with the cooperation between the two countries defined as a strategic partnership, while Serbia is a candidate for membership in the European Union.

The authorities in Belgrade rely on China's support in international organizations and institutions in opposing Kosovo's independence.

They also rely on China for economic investments and loans. | BGNES
