Poland must support Kiev from a strategic and geopolitical point of view.
This was stated by the newly elected president of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, to the Hungarian portal Mandiner.
"As an anti-communist, I believe that Russia is the greatest threat to the entire region. It is a post-imperial, neo-communist state led by Vladimir Putin, a war criminal. I am very critical of the Russian Federation, where, incidentally, I am being persecuted as head of the Institute of National Remembrance. I am being threatened with five years in a prisoner-of-war camp," Napiotski added.
According to him, on the one hand, Poland must support Ukraine in the conflict with the Russian Federation, but Kiev must understand that other countries, such as Poland and Hungary, have their own interests. “At the moment, I am against Ukraine's accession to the European Union,” the new Polish head of state explained.
He added that his country had played a significant role in supporting Ukraine thanks to President Andrzej Duda and Polish citizens and, therefore, as he stated, this means that Poland also has a right to its own interests.
Nawrocki won the presidential election held on June 1 with 50.89% of the vote. I BGNES
