US President Donald Trump has once again expressed his dissatisfaction with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The Republican said that the Russian leader was "playing with fire" after peace talks with Ukraine reached a dead end, the Wall Street Journal reported.
"What Vladimir Putin doesn't realize is that if it weren't for me, a lot of bad things would have happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He's playing with fire!" Trump wrote on social media platform Truth.
Over the weekend, Trump hinted that he was considering sanctions against Moscow, which, according to sources familiar with the matter, could be imposed as early as this week. "He's killing a lot of people," Trump said of Putin on May 25. "I don't know what's wrong with him. What the hell happened to him?"
Trump failed to extract significant concessions from Putin on peace talks with Ukraine, and the Russian leader recently escalated the war. Hours after Trump's comments on May 25, Moscow launched its largest drone and missile attack on Ukraine overnight on May 26. The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia fired over 350 explosive drones and at least nine cruise missiles. | BGNES
