A German couple has died in a scooter accident near Italy's Lake Garda, ANSA reports.

The two Germans were travelling on their way from Torri del Benaco - a village on the eastern coast of the popular tourist destination in northern Italy - to Albizano.

For reasons still unknown, the driver lost control of the scooter and crashed into a wall.

Emergency services have not yet provided further details of the tragedy. | BGNES
