The proposal was made after the four leaders, part of an alliance dubbed by Britain and France as a “coalition of the willing,” met with President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
Russia shows no signs of ending its three-year invasion of Ukraine and rejected a similar proposal made by the US and Kiev in March.
Moscow warned earlier that there would be no truce unless the West stopped supplying weapons to Kiev.
Russia currently occupies about a fifth of Ukraine's territory, including the Crimean peninsula, which it annexed in 2014, and in the spring it intensified its deadly attacks on the country.
On May 9, the US embassy in Kiev warned that a “significant air attack” could hit Ukraine at some point in the next few days.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held talks with Zelensky in the capital earlier.
The five leaders later spoke via video link with Trump, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Shevchenko said.
“Ukraine and all its allies are ready for a complete and unconditional ceasefire on land, in the air and at sea for at least 30 days, starting on Monday (May 12),” he added. | BGNES
