Andrew Garfield: I'd do another Spider-Man movie on one condition

Andrew Garfield has told us what it would take for him to return to the role of Spider-Man.

The Oscar-nominated star played Peter Parker in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and its sequel in early 2010. He was succeeded by Tom Holland but reprised the role in the 2021 multi-billion blockbuster " Spider-Man: No Way Home," NME reported.
Garfield is not officially attached to any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) upcoming projects, but at this past weekend's Middle East Comic Con, he was asked what circumstances would make him return to the franchise.
"It must be very strange. I'd like to do something very strange. Something very unique, offbeat and surprising, kind of like the creative freedom they have with the Spider-verse cartoons," Garfield replied.
The 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spidey-verse was an animated film about Miles Morales, a teenager who takes up the mantle of Spider-Man from Peter Parker in an alternate universe before teaming up with several other Spider-Men to save their timelines from collapsing.
The film has been praised for its groundbreaking storytelling and humor, receiving a sequel in 2023 and inspiring the upcoming Spider-Noir series based on Nicholas Cage's character in the films.
This isn't the first time Garfield has discussed returning to the role that made him famous. Last October, he spoke to GQ about the possibility of returning.
"I would 100% certainly come back if it's the right thing...if it's an addition to the culture, if there's a great concept or something that hasn't been done before that's unique and weird and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into," he said.
"I love this character and he brings me joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I will be joyful in return," he added. | BGNES
