Brad Pitt reveals what was the hardest part of filming F1

The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger.

Brad Pitt recently shared what was the biggest challenge he faced while working on the highly anticipated Formula 1 movie, F1. In the film, he plays veteran racer Sonny Hayes, a former star who returns from retirement to lead a struggling Formula 1 team and mentor a young and promising new recruit.

The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger.

The biggest challenge, according to Pitt? Creating the right script.
In an interview with E! News, the Bullet Train star revealed that he had been trying to make a car racing movie for decades, but the idea only came to fruition after he received a call from director Kosinski.

“Joseph came up with the revolutionary idea of putting the actors in real cars driving on real race tracks. It was a very bold decision,” said the 61-year-old actor.

Pitt expressed his admiration for Formula 1 drivers, emphasizing that they cross time zones and do “incredible” work. “They are the best in the world,” he said.

When asked what was the most difficult part, Pitt replied that the biggest challenge was creating a story that would be both interesting to die-hard Formula 1 fans and accessible to viewers who are unfamiliar with the sport. "We had to balance it carefully. I think we succeeded," the actor added.

In addition to Brad Pitt, the film also stars Damson Idris, Cary Condon, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Tobias Menzies, Shay Wigam, Sarah Niles, and Samson Kayo.

The film already has an 85% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 69 on Metacritic — a sign of “mostly favorable reviews.”

The US theatrical release is scheduled for June 27, 2025. | BGNES
