Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have been planning their wedding for nearly two years, reports PEOPLE.

In May 2023, the Amazon founder got down on one knee and proposed marriage to the Emmy-winning journalist during a summer vacation in Europe. In December 2023, she told Vogue that she "went a little black" when he showed her the 30-carat engagement ring.

Although the couple kept mum about the details, the former TV presenter said during her appearance on the show Tudei in November 2024 , that she approached the wedding planning like most people.

"I have to say I have Pinterest," Sanchez joked. "I'm like every other bride."

Those closest to them, however, predicted the celebration would be anything but a simple wedding. "I think it's going to be like a Princess Di kind of thing," Sanchez's older brother, Paul Sanchez, told TMZ in March 2025. "It's going to be an amazing event. It's going to be star-studded and it's going to be fun."

Bezos and Sanchez are expected to say "I do" sometime in June 2025. However, specific details about their nuptials remain under wraps.

"We don't have any details yet, like exactly where it's going to be or anything like that," Sanchez's brother Paul told TMZ "I'm thrilled to death," he added.

Sanchez and Bezos will reportedly tie the knot in Venice, Italy. After the billionaire denied rumors that the two had arranged a $600 million winter wedding in Aspen, Colorado, Venice Mayor Luigi Brunaro confirmed that the couple will stage their engagement in the historic Italian city.

"The many speculations and fake news that have been circulating about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded," the mayor wrote in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, adding that only 200 guests would be invited and that the event would not disturb the peace of the city.

"We are working with and supporting the organizers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city," the statement continued.

Although the couple has not confirmed the exact venue, previous reports claimed the wedding would take place on Bezos' $500 million yacht, dubbed Coru.

In March 2025, PEOPLE confirmed that the couple had sent out their wedding invitations. Although Bezos and Sanchez have remained mum on which A-list stars will attend, a source confirmed that Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner have received invitations.

The Italian engagement is expected to be a star-studded event, similar to their engagement parties.

In August 2023. Bezos and Sanchez celebrated the marriage proposal with celebrities like Kris Jenner and Bill Gates during a party on the Amazon founder's yacht, which was docked on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Three months later, designer Diane von Furstenberg threw an evening party in their honor at her Beverly Hills home.
