Thousands of fans from the fashion world and beyond are expected to pay their last respects to Italian fashion giant Giorgio Armani on September 6, following his death at the age of 91.
The king of a luxury empire worth billions of euros dressed Hollywood actors, pop stars, and members of royal families in sophisticated but understated creations, AFP reported.
He died on September 4 after months of poor health and will be buried in a private ceremony on September 8 in Milan.
Armani's funeral hall will be open to all who wish to pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (local time) on September 6 and 7 at the Teatro Armani on Via Bergognone 59 in the northern Italian city. Teatro Armani is a former Nestle chocolate factory, converted at Armani's request in 2001 into a minimalist but luxurious headquarters.

Armani's colleagues from the fashion world expressed their grief at his passing. Politicians and celebrities did the same, but many ordinary people are also expected to pay their respects over the weekend.
Armani's death came just weeks before the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of his fashion house during Milan Fashion Week. | BGNES
