Marine research company Ocean Infinity has resumed the search for missing 2014 Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Locke said.
The minister praised Ocean Infinity's "readiness to deploy its ships" to resume the search for the Boeing 777, which disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014 with 239 people on board, including 153 Chinese, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Locke added that details of how long the search would last had not yet been agreed.
He also did not provide details on when exactly the British firm had begun its search, AFP reported.
In December, the Malaysian government said it had agreed to launch a new search for MH370, which disappeared more than a decade ago in one of aviation's biggest enduring mysteries.
Despite the largest search in aviation history, the plane has never been found.
"They (Ocean Infinity) convinced us they were ready," Locke said.
"That's why the Malaysian government is proceeding with this," he added. | BGNES
