Germany and Portugal to decide first Nations League finalist

Both teams will meet for the 20th time in history.

Germany will host Portugal in the first semi-final of the Nations League tonight, June 4, at 22:00 p.m. Bulgarian time. The match will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

A few days after the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter was held at the home of German giants Bayern Munich, the national team will now play there as well. The Bundesteam will try to please its loyal supporters in the Final Four, which is being held on their soil - in addition to Munich, there will also be matches in Stuttgart.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann has re-called Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Serge Gnabry and Niklas Füllkrug back into the group for the final battles. Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rüdiger are out.

The Portuguese won the trophy in its debut edition in the 2018/19 season, when they defeated the Netherlands 1:0 in the finals, which they hosted. Then Goncalo Guedes was the hero for the Portuguese with his winning goal in the 60th minute.

Portugal will once again rely on its big star and captain Cristiano Ronaldo. Four of the PSG team, which became European club champions for the first time in its history, are also in the squad - Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Vitinha and Goncalo Ramos.

Germany and Portugal have met each other 19 times in total. The national team has a tangible advantage in direct clashes - 11 wins against only 3 for the Portuguese, with 5 draws. The goal difference is 33:18 in favor of the Germans.

A Slovenian brigade will lead the semi-final match in Munich. Slavko Vinčić is the main referee, and his assistants are Tomas Klancnik and Andras Kovacic. Matej Jug is the fourth official. Alen Borosak and Rade Obrenović have VAR duties.

In the other 1/2-final, the current trophy holders Spain and France will face each other. The match will be played in Stuttgart. | BGNES
