Norway's national team recorded a memorable victory during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the United States. The Scandinavians won 11-1 over Moldova on Tuesday night, recording their fifth consecutive victory in the current cycle.
Norway has not qualified for the World Cup since 1998, but it is very likely that they will fly overseas to participate. Erling Haaland was again at the heart of the spectacular success. This time the Manchester City striker scored 5 goals and now has 5 hat-tricks for Norway within 45 matches (48 goals in total).
The Scandinavians scored five unanswered goals in the first half. Felix Horn Mire gave the hosts the lead in the sixth minute. Erling Haaland's hat-trick followed (11', 36', 43'), and in added time Martin Odegaard, who assisted on two of Haaland's goals, made it 5-0.
Erling Haaland continued with the goals in the 52nd minute. Tello Osgaard made it 7:0 in the 67th minute, and seven minutes later Leo Östigor scored an own goal. By the end of the match, Osgaard scored three more times (once from the penalty spot), and Haaland scored his fifth goal of the match. The striker also provided an assist in the match.
