Jennifer Aniston adopted her first dog after it appeared on the set of the TV series Friends.
The 56-year-old actress recounted her first encounter with her fluffy friend Norman as a puppy when he made a guest appearance on the cult series.
"Norman was in an episode of Friends. The one where Joey and Chandler are babysitting Ross's baby, Ben, and they leave him on the bus. They leave the baby on the bus and run through the streets of New York trying to find the bus they left him on. And did you know that in New York, there are these wonderful dog walkers with 20 dogs on a leash? Norman was one of those dogs," she shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Aniston, who already wanted to adopt a dog, managed to take Norman home when he was only a year old.
"I told the animal trainers on the show, 'If you ever have a dog that you want to give up for adoption, or a dog that's available for adoption, I'm looking. They replied, 'Actually, we have a dog that we're retiring because he's very stubborn, doesn't do what we tell him, and never follows commands. ' So I retired him, and he became mine," the actress said.
Norman died in 2011, but Jennifer — who has a Labrador named Lord Chesterfield and a Schnauzer mix named Clyde — has a tattoo of his name on her leg. | BGNES
