Scarlett Johansson is Hollywood's highest-grossing actor

Johansson has earned a box office profit of $14.8 billion throughout her career in films in which she has played the lead role or a major role in an ensemble cast.

Scarlett Johansson set a new record as the highest-grossing actor in the lead at the global box office with her role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Four years after leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she surpassed her MCU colleagues Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. on the road to the top.

In the newly released film, Johansson takes over from Chris Pratt as the star of the dinosaur franchise. She plays former military agent Zora Bennett on a mission to one of the few remaining islands where dinosaurs still live after the events of the Jurassic World trilogy.

In its first six days in theaters worldwide, the film grossed $318 million from its global opening, second only to the Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2 in 2025.

According to The Numbers, this start gives Johansson a box office total of $14.8 billion for her entire career in films in which she has played a leading or ensemble role.

More than $8.7 billion of that comes from the four Avengers and Captain America 3 films in which she plays Black Widow.

Other roles that count toward this amount include her MCU debut in Iron Man 2 and the two animated films Sing, in which she voices the character Ash.

The other five highest-grossing actors in leading roles are Tom Hanks, Downey Jr., Jackson, and Pratt. | BGNES
