Visitors to the new Legoland resort in Shanghai are greeted by a giant Lego man figure named Dada, standing more than 26 meters tall. Opening on Saturday, it is the first Legoland in China and the largest in the world, built with an impressive 85 million Lego bricks.
The resort is a joint project between the Shanghai government, Merlin Entertainments and the LEGO Group, ABC News reported.
Among the main attractions is "Miniland" - a miniature world built entirely from Lego bricks, which recreates famous landmarks from around the world. Chinese highlights include the Temple of Heaven in Beijing and the Bund in Shanghai. Visitors can also enjoy a boat ride through a historic Chinese water town - also built from Lego.
The opening was accompanied by themed performances by characters from the world of Legoland. Ticket prices range from 44 to 84 US dollars (319 to 599 yuan). | BGNES
