Prince Harry made a surprise visit to Ukraine to support Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the war with Russia, The Guardian newspaper reported.
Harry arrived in Kiev by train early this morning, the newspaper reported, publishing photos of him in a luxury carriage and being greeted on the platform in the Ukrainian capital.
His visit coincides with the trip to Kiev by the new British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, her first visit abroad since taking office last week.
The prince was in Ukraine with a team from his Invictus Games Foundation, which supports wounded military personnel.
"We cannot stop the war, but we can do everything we can to help in the recovery process," Harry said.
The newspaper reported that he was to meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and about 200 Ukrainian veterans.
Harry, who turns 41 on Monday, September 15, met his father, King Charles III, for the first time in nearly two years during a visit to the UK earlier this week.
The prince has distanced himself from the rest of the royal family after stepping down from his royal duties and moving to California with his wife Meghan in 2020. | BGNES
