51 years later Bologna wins another Italian Cup

Vincenzo Italiano's team beat Milan 1:0 in Rome.

Bologna awaited its first major trophy after a 51-year drought. Vincenzo Italiano's team triumphed in the Italian Cup tournament after a narrow 1:0 victory over Milan at the Olimpico in Rome.

Dan Ndoye became a hero for Bologna. The Swiss international scored in the 53rd minute and Milan never managed to respond to the challenge until the end of the match.

For Bologna, this is their first Cup triumph since 1974 and the third in the club showcase after this and the one back in 1970. The team has not lost a final. Sergio Conceicao's Milan has five trophies, but the last one dates back to 2003. The Rossoneri hold the record for most lost finals with 10.

Both teams turn their attention to Serie A, where Milan visit Roma and Bologna play away Fiorentina. | BGNES
