Ukraine will respect the Easter truce, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, hours after Vladimir Putin ordered Russian troops to cease all hostilities.
"If Russia is now suddenly ready to really engage in a format of a full and unconditional ceasefire, Ukraine will act accordingly - mirroring Russia's actions," Zelensky wrote in X. He suggested extending the truce beyond Easter on April 20."
The Ukrainian leader also accused Russia of already breaking its promises, saying that "Russian offensive operations continue on several frontline sectors, and Russian artillery fire has not subsided." | BGNES
