Digital bank Revolut will create over 400 jobs in Western Europe as it works on building a new headquarters in Paris, the company told Euronews.
The new jobs will be created in France, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and Portugal and will cover risk management and other key functions.
At least 200 of the jobs will be in France, with the aim of establishing the country as a key operational hub with over 1,500 specialist employees by 2029.
Founded in 2015 in London, Revolut started as a fintech company offering easy money transfers, currency exchange, and a free travel card. The company already has a banking license in the United Kingdom and over 60 million customers worldwide.
As part of its growth plan in Western Europe, Revolut said it intends to apply for a banking license in France to further strengthen the position of its new French headquarters.
Following the appointment of Beatrice Cossat-Dumourziere as CEO for Western Europe, Revolut has launched a major recruitment drive across the region. This is in addition to its headquarters in Lithuania, which will continue to serve other European markets.
Once the French headquarters are fully established, the neobank plans to transfer around 600 of its current employees in the areas of customer service, lending, and products.
The expansion will take place in stages, with 80 new hires expected in the first year and all 400 in place by 2029. By the end of the decade, 1,500 employees will be dedicated to Revolut's French banking operations.
Revolut plans to invest around €1 billion in France over the next three years. This commitment demonstrates the company's confidence not only in the regulatory environment and business climate in Europe, but also in Paris' status as an emerging financial center and in its own future as a fully licensed bank.
Speaking about the expansion plans, Kosa-Dumurzi said: "Western Europe is home to a huge pool of talent, and we intend to make the most of it by attracting the best professionals who are ready to shape the future of banking and build the next generation of financial services."
Since its inception, the company has grown to 13,000 employees worldwide, and its appeal as an employer continues to grow, with over 1.6 million people applying to work at Revolut in 2024.
Revolut founder and CEO Nick Storonsky recently confirmed his commitment to a fully flexible working model that allows employees to choose between working remotely or from the office. | BGNES
