The biggest television stars appeared on the red carpet on Sunday under the bright September sun for the Emmy Awards, the first of many ceremonies that will set the fashion trends on the road to the Oscars.
Here are some of the best looks spotted at the Peacock Theater:
- Regal in red -
Selena Gomez, star of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, arrived arm in arm with her fiancé, music producer Benny Blanco, wearing a long sleeveless red Louis Vuitton dress with a slit and wide train.
Sidney Sweeney, the star of "Euphoria," who will present the award on Sunday, also turned heads in a stunning strapless red dress with a plunging neckline and lots of diamonds.
- Perfect white suits -
Most fashion experts say people shouldn't wear white after Labor Day - but that rule only applies to ordinary people, not celebrities.
Pedro Pascal, nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for The Last of Us, exuded style in a cream double-breasted suit, sunglasses, and a perfectly shaped beard.
Gwendoline Christie, nominated for the sci-fi office thriller "Divided," who also stars in the Netflix remake of the Addams Family series "Wednesday," was stunning in a form-fitting light-colored Tom Ford suit, and her slicked-back hair added to the dramatic effect of her look.
Trammell Tillman, who won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for "The Division," also looked elegant in white, with a sparkling brooch to boot.
- Autumn shades -
Unlike most Hollywood awards, the Emmys are not a winter event but take place in the fall, which is reflected in the color palette seen on the red carpet.
Oscar winner Kathy Bates, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for "Matlock," looked regal in a floor-length brown dress with long sleeves and a draped bodice.
Seth Rogen, who won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy for his manic industry satire "The Studio," which he also created, wore a rust-colored velvet tuxedo.
- Barbie style, still relevant -
Blackpink singer Lisa, who made her acting debut in the third season of "The White Lotus," stunned in a sculptural pink dress with bare shoulders that revealed a lot and cascaded into a long, swirling cascade of seal ribbons.
Her co-star Amy Lee Wood also looked beautiful in pink, wearing a strapless pink dress with a bodice that revealed a hint of red.
And Julianne Nicholson, already an Emmy winner for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy for "The Good Place," looked gorgeous in a purple strapless dress with a square neckline.
- Accessories, but with political undertones -
The war in Gaza was certainly on the minds of some of those attending the Emmy Awards.
Megan Stalter, one of the stars of the hit comedy "The Office," appeared casually dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, but her bag spoke volumes.
The black bag had a white ribbon with a simple message: "Stop the fire!"
And Javier Bardem, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the limited series "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendes Story," wore a black and white keffiyeh around his neck. I AFP, BGNES
