Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei promised that his country would show no mercy to Israeli leaders, hours after US President Donald Trump demanded “unconditional surrender” from Tehran.

"We must give a strong response to the terrorist Zionist regime.

We will show no mercy to the Zionists," Khamenei wrote on X, quoted by AFP.

Last week, Israel launched an unprecedented bombing campaign that targeted Iranian nuclear and military facilities, as well as residential areas.

Iran responded by firing missiles and drones, and today announced that it had launched hypersonic missiles against Israel.

Trump called for the “unconditional surrender” of the Islamic republic and boasted that the US could easily kill Khamenei. | BGNES
