If you're still reeling from the episode of "The Last of Us" that changed everything in the series, you're not alone.
Joel Miller, played by Pedro Pascal, died at the hands of the vengeful Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), who carried out her plan after the death of her father, who was killed by Joel.
But this isn't the last time viewers will see Joel in "The Last of Us," according to executive producer and creator Craig Mazin, who confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Joel will appear in future episodes through flashbacks.
"If we've done our job right, you'll feel Joel's presence," Mazin said.
Pascal is quite busy outside of the hit HBO series. He has several films coming out this summer, with more to follow in 2026.
On June 13, the romantic comedy Materialists hits theaters, in which Pascal stars alongside Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans. Directed by Celine Song, the film tells the story of a young woman from New York who finds herself caught between her imperfect ex and her ideal partner.
Eddington hits theaters about a month later, on July 18. This is a film by Ari Aster, set during the COVID-19 pandemic. It stars Pascal, Joaquin Phoenix, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone. Eddington tells the story of the conflict between the mayor and sheriff of a small town in Eddington, New Mexico, which causes neighborhood tensions.
Less than a week later, Pascal plays Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, in the long-awaited reboot of Marvel's Fantastic Four series, Fantastic Four: First Steps. The film will be released in theaters on July 25 and stars Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebony Maw as the other members of the Fantastic Four. The superhero team is tasked with protecting Earth from the cosmic god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).
Next year, Pascal will appear in the Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday. Also in 2026, he will bring Disney's hugely successful series The Mandalorian to the big screen. | BGNES
